BobCat Pin

When the boys receive their bobcat badge, they also get a pin. The Pack Leader told the boys that they had to wear it upside down until they completed three good deeds, in keeping with the Law of the Pack. Well, Mr Eager Beaver decided to wrap them up before bedtime!!! He was very helpful. (Mommy talked to him about how cubscouts should *always* do good deeds!)

Here he is displaying his recently turned right side up Bobcat pin. Congrats Jacob!

BobCat Badge

Tonight Jacob received his BobCat badge at the Pack meeting for CubScouts. In order to receive it, he had to memorize the CubScout Promise, Law of the Pack, Sign, and Salute. I am very proud of him! (and he's pretty proud of himself too!)

Here he's walking up to the stage to get his badge and crossing the "bridge" that all the boys walk across. I'm not sure what it signifys, but it was neat.

Jacob receives his badge from his Den Leader.

Pauses for a moment to examine it.

Pics of the kids (2 of 3)

It's been a while since I posted any pics of the kids -- not cause I've not taken them just cause I haven't posted them! Here are some shots from last week. -- Let you think Suzanne is always serious, I thought I'd include a happy face too!
Here's Mr. James looking innocent :-) Hard to believe he's 3!

Jacob was at school during this photo opportunity. I'll have to make sure I get him some time in front of the lens soon!

Anniversary Cake

Here's an anniversary cake I completed for a friends In-Laws. Fondant calla Lilys. I tried a new icing smoothing technique and am very pleased with it. This is a buttercream cake, not fondant!

Enjoy.

Baby Shower Cake

I just finished this cake which is for a baby shower tomorrow at church. It's my first tiered cake. I'm happy with how it turned out and hope it makes it to church in one piece tomorrow (haha)

SOoooo... the nitty gritty. The cake is a two layer (10in and 6in). The top layer is yellow cake with a caramel buttercream filling it is covered with a strawberry and white chocolate marshmallow fondant. --- The bottom layer is a Rich chocolate cake with an oreo filling and chocolate marshmallow fondant. I hope it tastes as yummy as it sounds! I also covered the board in fondant and the baby was modeled a week or so ago and has been waiting for her debut -- well, here she is!

Enjoy!
