Yes... I did

Make the little baby. I'm so pleased! I hand modeled her from Marshmallow Fondant following some directions that were in Wilton's Fondant Fun book. I think she's going to star in a baby shower cake in a few weeks :-)

Awww...

Sweet!

Course 2 Finale

This is my Course 2 Finale cake. I am pleased with how it turned out and really enjoyed the basketweave and Rope border techniques. I had fun making the flowers, although they are certainly an item where practice practice practice is the key.

Enjoy!

Owie!

James took a face plant into the step stool. Owie!! Poor guy looks like he was in a fight, I think the stool won. It was a day of owies, Jacob - running home in the rain skinned his knee.

August Cakes

Two Cakes

The first is a yellow cake for a birthday, I still plan to make a "scoreboard" but haven't done that yet. Gotta clean up my mess first! I filled it with a caramel buttercream filling. mmm

Filled with the same caramel buttercream, this chocolate cake is for a baby shower. The frog is from the nursery theme and the daisy's are fondant with royal icing centers.

Enjoy!

Flower Power Cake

We have Care Group at church today so I decided to bring a -- cake! Flower Power! The good news is that the MMF holds up well in heat and humidity. Our A/C is out so it's about 86 in here -- and slated to be over 100 today. Needless to say, this will be the last for a few days although I have a baby shower cake to do for friday. I may be borrowing a kitchen.

Style?

I've had 3 kids... I'd say I'm stuck in a time warp but I really think that only applies if one had any sense of style in the first place. I don't always love the skin I'm in and it's certainly taken many differnt forms in the past 6 years. So, my feeble attempt at style today is going to come in the form of a shoe --- the problem is, I feel odd wearing a heel with jeans, but the what not to wear girls seems to think it's cool ---so, world, what do you think? Does it work, or not? (as a side note, taking a picture of ones own feet is a challenging thing to do!)

Fondant Cake

A fondant cake! This is a 6" round - Teal with white accents. It's the same yellow cake with strawberry as the outdoor cake, but there was more batter - so another cake! It is covered in Marshmallow Fondant which is FABULOUS to work with. Jacob found it a home though at my MILs for a dinner party they are having tomorrow. Mmmmm

More Cakes

We had a party for Mr Bear and this is his cake. Mr. Bear is Jacob's special friend he got when he had his accident. This was Mr. Bear's 3rd Birthday. Happy Birthday Mr. Bear!!!

I had the priveledge of making this cake for my mom's boss. I had alot of fun creating it! The trees are made from fondant and the trunks are pretzels. The path is crushed graham crackers/brown sugar and the water is tinted piping gel. I really like the rock border -- the request was for an outdoor theme cake. It's yellow with strawberry filling and buttercream!
